Plywood becomes an engineered composite when layers, load paths, joints, protection and quality control work as a system.

An engineered plywood-based layered composite is a deliberate material choice for parts of HARDY structures. It is assessed through requirements, repair, production rate and mission economics rather than material prestige.

Mission context

Material works inside a load path. Thickness, ply direction, moisture, edge protection, inserts and fasteners may matter more than the broad word “plywood”.

Engineering approach

HARDY combines accessible material with a controlled manufacturing route and reserves more complex materials for requirements that justify them through load or dedicated testing.

What must be demonstrated

A material choice should be supported by component and product evidence.

  • incoming material and moisture control;
  • joint, component and repair testing;
  • version traceability and repeat test after change.

Limits and responsible claims

We do not claim ballistic, fire, water or other special resistance without a defined method and report. Actual life depends on task, conditions and damage.
